HomePod won’t recognise spouse’s voice.
I’m writing this because I found a solution to the problem and couldn’t post on prior threads.
After hours of resetting HomePod and messing with “recognise my voice”, toggling on and off etc, HomePod eventually told my wife (who it’d not been recognising) that it didn’t have her details; that she had to go onto the general Siri options under “my information” and find herself on the list.
We couldn’t find her name. It turned out that she didn’t have herself - her own contact card - stored on her phone. So I sent her own contact details to her from my phone, which she then saved onto her phone. Her iPhone immediately recognised what was happening and updated her contact card and then HomePod started working normally, recognising her voice and addressing her by name if she made a personal request.
such a weird solution to a stupid problem, but it’s resolved now.
Hope this helps someone because it cost me several hours of my life.
