CarPlay NOT muting music while reading texts or giving directions.

I own a 2024 Toyota Tacoma. I’ve used CarPlay on ever car I have owned since it came out, without issue. On my new truck when I go to use Siri, it doesn’t mute the music or whatever else is playing like it did on all of my other vehicles. It also doesn’t mute the music when it reads directions or text messages. It actually makes it more dangerous because I have to constantly now touch the screen to fix everything. Please tell me someone has had this issue and has found a solution. It is driving me bananas. The dealer was no help.
