iMacOS reopen windows - external drive not available

If I reboot with reopen windows, apps connected to files on an external drive, start up with something like drive or maybe file not a available.

Is there a way I can reboot with a startup of Finder pointing to my external drive. Before Other apps, that are trying to find an external drive file,

are loaded?
