We have a family Iphone calendar set up.
I have notifications on, so am alerted when a new entry is made by anyone in our family group.
My question is, can I set it up so that I can a different and distinct than all other alert sounds when one specific family member makes a new calendar entry (i.e. my son).

Alas, no.
The alert tone for Calendar set at Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Calendar Alerts is a blunt instrument and can be set for only one tone for all Calendar alerts. Apple describes these as upcoming calendar events, invitations, and more.
Intriguing idea though. I would like to see - or rather hear - this too. It's the same idea as setting different ringtones for each person which is perfectly possible in the Contacts app. Indeed, there are lots of songs with a name which serve this purpose. Having said that, at about seven minutes Hey Jude might be a bit on the long side as a ring tone.
