How do you set up recurring appointments in Calendar. I used to be able to customize an appointment for example the 2nd and 4th Sunday each month. Now I can only find recurring appointments on a certain date of each month instead of a certain day of the week. Can anyone help me??

As you note, setting recurring days of each month is not possible using your iPhone. I have tried this in iOS 18 - and neither was it in iOS 16; I have an old iPhone using that version of iOS. I can't check iOS 17.
Are you perhaps thinking of being able to do this in the macOS calendar?
In my iMac's Calendar (with macOS 15 Sequoia)I have managed to set up a recurring event on the second Sunday of each month using Repeat > Custom > choose a day. However, when setting this there is no option for more than one day. To achieve further single days of the month it would be necessary to duplicate the event and set another day of the week for each month.
How do I set up recurring appointments in Calendar?
