WhatsApp desktop (macOS) unable to connect to device

Hello There,

I've been using WhatsApp desktop (macOS) on my Mac for some times, but now WA is revoking its previous version and the only solution is to go to the new WhatsApp desktop version (24.19...).

Indeed, I have never been able to go through the QR code generation to synchronise the desktop with my phone. I browsed the web to try to find a solution. I have tried extensive protocoles to clean up (completely erase) the previous version before reinstalling… Never works.

I have done some testings, and now it seems to me that WhatsApp is not able to run correctly for me besause my home directory is on a case sensitive FS/partition (indeed a HFSX fs). I put this information here since I've not find it anywhere and I'd be happy to share experience of other users in the same situation than I am.

WhatsApp : I have not found a way to send them this feedback, and I have not found their forums !

PS I'm running Monterey …

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.7

Thanks for the pointers, but I’ve found those ones… unfortunately they are not answering my question/problem.

The FAQ does not have any information concerning the problem I am facing, and the contact page is not accepting my message (telling me: try again later)… To be honest, I am very surprised that a company as Meta has such a (poor) level of support on such software.

Their support was poor even before Meta took over.
