Why is the L shortcut not working in Final Cut Pro?
Sometimes I can use “L” button to speed up clip preview, but most of the time it plays mac sound and does nothing. Any ideas?

Just launched FC and my J K and L buttons are doing their job. Yesterday they stopped working after like hour in. So they can work or not even in one session. I’m not sure key binds is problem, but i’ll definitely try, thank you Tom.
Yes for both your questions. J and K buttons stops work at same time and conditions like L. I think i’m doing sth wrong because when I try to press any of them my mac makes warning sound, I wanna figure out what’s wrong, because it works sometimes.
Start by trashing your settings. Hold Opt-Cmd as you launch the application. If it's still not working check the Command Editor and see what assigned to L.
I just discovered it becomes inactive after first blade, then even if i undo it it won’t work anymore
What do you mean by first blade? What are you doing with what tool or shortcut?
J/K/L buttons stops working after I first use “cmd + b” on my full clip.
Have you trashed/deleted the settings/preferences like Tom suggested?
yep still nothing :(
Dodgy keyboard?
i’m sorry? idk what does it means just basic macbook kbrd
Do you have other apps running as well as FCP? Especially non certified apps and virus checkers.
trying to keep as less as possible opened apps at same time, got no virus checkers

The key on your keyboard may be defective.
Try swapping with a different keyboard to see if the problem goes away.
