Google calendar does not let me invite guests from outside my organization

All of a sudden Google Calendar does not allow me to invite guests from outside our organization to events. Before, I was able to invite the guests from outside the organization, and I received a notice that they would not be able to see the event on their calendar. Today I was not even able to add the email address to the invitation box. I have not changed any settings. I am using a MacBook Pro running OS 12.7.6.
