That feature may be disabled if you’re using iOS 18.1 beta. Beta software should never be used on a primary device. It’s also possible this has something to do with UK and the EU situation. Local Apple Support in UK may be your best source for information that way.

Where you can ride transit using Apple Pay - Apple Support
UK transit companies don’t offer any transit cards, so there is nothing to show. UK transit companies accept most credit and debit cards when added to Apple Wallet app and you setup Express Transit in your Settings app > Wallet & Apple Pay for use with your payment methods.

I was going by the information in this article:
iOS and iPadOS - Feature Availability - Apple
I didn't look too closely in the "Add Card" section in Wallet (my mistake). Apparently, that article is wrong.
Hmmm. Weird. Do you have a VPN installed on your phone? If so, try deleting it. Also, check Screen Time to make sure you haven't inadvertently enabled any restrictions.
I know but that’s not my case cause i always had the option to add different public transport cards on my previously iphone (usa, france, japan)
now as you can see on the pics I don’t have the green icon and button under debit and credit card that let me allow to add extras cards.
Maybe it’s just an isse on iphone 16 pro and we will update bugs with the next software
thanks anyway
Transit cards displayed are specific to various settings on your iPhone. For example, when you were using your previous iPhone what region was your iPhone set for? The credit and debit cards were issued by what banks and in what countries? What country was your Apple Account set for? How do those settings and locations differ from where you are now?
Previously iPhone was the same location ,
credit card are all from the same country ,
apple account set on the same country too
i m currently using the location where i m atm which is the same one for all the rest settings
so weird
You mentioned US, France and Japan, what does that have to do with you being in UK? For instance, Transit Cards for China and Hong Kong require the use of specific cards and require the purchaser to be in those locations.
Specifically, what country and what Transit Card is the issue?
The article is correct insofar as several transit companies accept Express Transit. So to use that feature an approved credit or debit card needs to be in Apple Wallet. Then setup Express Transit in Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Express Transit.
So, yes Transit is a feature through the use of Express Transit.

That is so very unclear..... Thanks for the clarification.
The supported cards are still shown in the Wallet app. There may be limitations imposed by the transit companies themselves. As an example, it’s being reported that one of the Japanese transit companies will no longer accept payments from overseas. They’re requiring payment while in Japan.
I know it's obvious but I feel the need to ask anyway. Have you restarted the phone? Force restarted it?

Also, have you updated to iOS 18.0.1?
What region is your phone set to?
