How can I exchange audio books on Book Store?

I want to exchange my last audio book "Taking London" for the hard copy because of audio difficulties

Is that possible? Once you have listened to an audio book, you have enjoyed the value of it. If you want to listen to another book don't you have to buy that one? How would Apple or the authors earn money if books are merely exchanged?
