How can I change the number of Photos per row after update?

Updated to iOS 18.0.1

when I view photos there are 5 per row. It was 3 per row before update. How do I go back to 3 per row

You have to click ‘select’ like you are selecting a number of photos then zoom in/out from there. If you zoom without clicking select it will just zoom into the photo your finger originally captured.

You don't say where you're looking. I think that the only place that you are restricted to 5 across is in the initial view of the Main Window where it says "Photos" at the top.



But if you scroll up to see more of the Library, it says "Library" at the top and you can pinch the screen to get other odd-numbers rows, like 5, 3 or 1 across. Or "many."


Playing around, I find that after you switch from Library back to Photos, it seems to stay the same:
