Apple Music stops before playlist runs out

Have a smart playlist containing many days worth of tracks. Music plays anywhere from 6 to a dozen songs from the playlist, then stops at the end of a song and plays no more until Play or Shuffle is again selected. Does not appear to be a network, platform, device, or OS problem.

Quite vexing. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.
