Why does dictation change my keyboard

When you change the dictation language the keyboard is changed. However, you're still using the same keyboard and you need to correct what you dictate.

What would be expected is for the keyboard to remain the same.

On iOS the problem has been solved by allowing to have multiple languages associated to a single keyboard. Now we are awaiting the solution on the Mac.

I had created multiple input sources, keyboards, to include multiple source languages so as to have spelling checking at the input.

I have eliminated the additional keyboards and the issue is solved, at least it looks like it. If the need for the additional input sources comes up I will let you know.

Thanks

To your question on the shortcut I use for dictation? Double press on the Fn key?

  • No just the F5 key on the Mac Pro

For changing the input source I did not use a shortcut.
