How to revert back the calendar view which is prior to the release of iOS 18

I hate the new calendar format! I can't see anything. I want my old format back.

I like the new monthly compact view but when I click into the day, I hate the hour by hour list of stuff. You cannot see the whole day from that view, which makes it useless.Please give me an option to just see the list with just the event and the time shown as it was before the last update.

Please Apple… why did you change this? I can no longer see my whole day! I know what month it is … I know what day it is… I need to know what I have scheduled and when for my full day… easily. Could you just ask some users before deciding something on our behalf that doesn’t help one tiny bit !

Terrible upgrade! If you do revert back to “original,” it is not the same!!! Please bring back the original calendar. Thanks.

When in calendars click on a particular month to show 1 month only. Click at top of screen to left of search icon. Choose ‘compact’. That should give you the visual you want. I’m so happy I can use the old display as hate what appears after I did the update.

Dear Apple. I’ve been a loyal customer since iPhone 4. Due to this very unpopular “upgrade,” this will be my last iPhone. You messed up and are not listening to your users. I’m sorry you’re not willing to make this right.

To clarify, I just want to see the list for the day I select not the whole list.

Lawrence do you work for Apple??? If this is so easy, could you let the thousands upon thousands of users… probably now in the millions and millions, know how to work around this fiasco and see a full day of 30 appointments easily!!!

You cannot go back, but there are dozens of excellent calendar apps in the app store. I’ve never found any Apple Calendar in any version to use useable; I’ve been using 3rd party calendar apps on all of my iPhones, and also my previous non-Apple smartphones.

Update: I just checked out the Apple calendar in iOS 18. I’m amazed at how much better it is than previous versions. The fact that you can turn the phone to Landscape and get a usable week view is brilliant.

The “compact” format helped to get the month view back, Thank you!! But when I click on a particular day, I hate the view. I want to be able to see my whole day in the screen like before.

I just did something which helped! If you go to setting/accessibility(display&textsize) and go to Larger Text. At the bottom you have a scale you can adjust the font size. I dropped down one font and got both monthly and daily back to more visibility. Turning on or off larger text doesn’t seem to matter in the calendar from what I see. Merry Christmas 🎄

This is a user-to-user forum, with minimal Apple participation, so they won’t see your request.

The other option is to learn how to use the new, improved calendar.

Well, you can’t always get what you want, but you can learn how to use the updated calendar app, or you can get one of the dozens of calendar apps in the app store. Two popular ones are WeekCalendar and Fantastical.

I don’t see what is confusing to anyone who has read the thread, but to keep it simple:

• The calendar app in iOS 18 is different from the one in iOS 17
• Your choices are to learn how to use it or get a better Calendar app from the app store (there are many)
• You can make a case with Apple about how you think it should work→Product Feedback - Apple, and if enough users suggest the same or similar changes it may happen

Kia ora Lee anne. I agree with you and all who detest this update! It was totally arbitrary. 'If it ain't broke don't fix it!' It should have been optional.

I wrote to apple on the product feedback page as it's the only way they read a complaint - apparently. I do hope your day gets better, kia ora
