Iphone Mirroring Function Not Working

Hi, I'm having difficulty getting the new iPhone mirroring to work. Im using an iPhone 15 pro with iOS 18.0 and iMac withSequoia 15.0 loaded. when I select mirroring I get the message on the phone to enter the iPhone passcode to trust the Mac. I enter the correct passcode, but the Mac then displays message unable to connect to iPhone..

Anyone help please?

iMac 27″, macOS 15.0

The reason the app doesn’t work is because I have an Intel processor!

FWIW I have a setup that checks all the boxes from iPhone Mirroring: Use your iPhone from your Mac, and I'd say that my Mac is able to successfully establish a mirroring connection with my iPhone...5% of the time? And honestly that might be too generous an estimate.

Unfortunately nothing has worked, Really weird, but it looks like I'll have to try the official Apple support.

Hello Gordonbuckley!

The Apple Support article iPhone Mirroring: Use your iPhone from your Mac says to make sure:

Your iPhone Your computer is a Mac with Apple silicon or Mac with the Apple T2 Security Chip
Your iPhone and Mac are signed in to the same Apple Account using two-factor authentication
Your iPhone and Mac have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on
Your iPhone is locked and near your Mac
Your Mac is not sharing its internet connection or using AirPlay or Sidecar

If all of these are true, the article says to try any of the following (If the first one doesn’t work, try the second. If the second doesn’t work, try the third, and so on):

Unlock your iPhone, then lock it again
Quit the iPhone Mirroring app, then open it again
Restart your Mac and iPhone
If either device is using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi intensively for another purpose, such as to stream audio or video to another device, discontinue that use and try again. It might also help to check for wireless interference
Check for VPN and other third-party security software on both devices. Similarly, the firewall settings on your Mac should not be set to block all incoming connections
Reset iPhone access in iPhone Mirroring settings
On each device, sign out of your Apple Account, restart the device, then sign back in

If none of these work, contact the Official Apple Support.

It worked for me when the feature first dropped, and nothing has changed. What's most annoying is that it sees my iPhone, and when it's unlocked, it says, "iPhone mirroring will connect when iPhone is no longer in use". When the lock screen timer expires and the screen locks, it retries connecting and says, "timed out starting iPhone mirroring."

Also, I'm unable to revoke access, so I'm just stuck. This sucks.
