Using an iPhone 15 pro max and with the new iOS18 there appears to be a substantial lag in the load time of the calendar app. It’s very sluggish in its response times. Anyone else experiencing this and any solutions to help the calendar app work better?

Yes, something’s not right with the calendar. For example, if I have to make an appointment, and then I go and check to see if I have anything else booked at that time in my calendar, at first it will show a clear calendar, but then afterwards a few seconds later or at some point, my calendar will load with all of my appointments. This is causing me to double book things and overall frustration. They gotta fix this thing first before anything else. Gonna mess up a lot of people schedules.

I did not have this problem before iOS18 though. That’s my only concern. It worked great prior to the update.
I did. No virus app or anything like that. Didn’t experience the lag prior to the iOS 18 update. Not sure what changed but the response times of the calendar app at least on my device has been significantly impacted.
The calendar app is just fairly dumb program that displays data delivered by the calendar server, so if there is a delay it is between the server and your iPhone. Calendars are stored on your email account or accounts, and sync to the iPhone.
Check your connection speed, and if you use VPN delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile, as it is a very common source of communication delays.
What is wrong is with your calendar source, which is delaying updating the calendar database. The Calendar app just displays the contents of the calendar database. So you may have a problem with the source of your calendar (which is one or more email accounts that support calendar) or very slow data throughput.
Did you see my previous post about VPN as a possible cause? And do you have any antivirus or apps that purport to clean or speed up your device?
