Is there a practical work-around for Apple not giving us the switch to hide/unhide our Reminders in Calendar List view like we they did with turning on and off specific “calendars”?

You can turn off or on reminders in Calendar. In Calendar, tap Calendars (bottom of the screen) and tap Scheduled Reminders to turn them on or off. In the same view you also have the setting Show Completed Reminders to further customize how reminders are displayed.
