New Mac Studio says drive is corrupt

My parents recently bought a new Mac Studio and all seemed to be well until he started getting some random beachballs and weird things like airdrop not working. It even kernel panicked as well. I ran Etrecheck as well, but not sure how to attach that. We ran Disk Utility and got errors like “The volume … with UUID … was found to be corrupt and needs to be repaired.” And “warning: inode (id …): Resource Fork attr is missing or empty for compressed file”. The process completes with a green check mark, but if you run First Aid, the same thing happens. Upon talking to Apple and being advised to wipe it and start over, we did that, and it seemed to work, but after installing some apps (Apple’s own from the Mac App Store), the issue came back. It also passes the built in hardware test. Not real sure what to do.

what EXACTLY did you do?

did you "erase all content and settings" as described in this article? -OR-

did you just re-install MacOS, WITHOUT Erasing?
