Unable to access my iMovie backup from my last Mac

Hi, I got a new MacBook pro 2021 and when I try and access my imovie back up from my last Mac it wont let me. I can access all other files but the imovie files. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Keith. Some of this may be useless to know but with MACs little things can cause issues.

This is from my old mac and I want to use some of the imovie files.

So I plug in the back up drive - SEAGATE SSD and go to the following files.

  • Backops.backupdb
  • Franks Mac
  • Latest back up (one before that was 31-5-2022)
  • Macintosh HD-DATA
  • USER
  • FRANKS MAC
  • MOVIES
  • iMOVIE LIBRARY

Click that and iMovie starts and I get an error "The document "movie library" Could not be opened. Permission Denied. Libraries require read and write permission.

Sorry for the overload.
