Calendar events not showing in search

Once again I’m having issues with my calendar events showing in the search. They will show up if I click the specific day, just not in the search. Which is extremely unhelpful when you don’t know the day! This is a frequent problem with my iPhone & am at my wits end. I’ve followed the old instructions of settings->siri and search-> calendar then toggled off and on again both “show app in search” and “show content in search.” but it’s not fixing the problem this time. Any other suggestions before I ditch iPhone once & for all?
