Apps unable to request permissions from Calendar

I've been using ItsyCal and MeetingBar on my 2023 MacBook Pro and my 2020 MacBook Air. I recently purchased a second hand 2015 iMac and have been trying to install these apps on that device as well.

Neither will work because they need access permissions granted from my Apple Calendar app, but neither app is opening the pop up for my to grant access. When I go to system prefs under security & privacy neither app is listed. None are listed actually. They both tell me to go to security & privacy to change the setting, which I apparently can't do.

I'm running Monterey 12.7.8 on this device and both apps say that they work on version 10 & up, so they should work just fine. They installed with no issues and they're technically "working" but without accessing my Calendar app they obviously aren't showing my events and meetings.

I've restarted the device, and opened and closed the apps several times, with the lock unlocked and locked. I saw advice that said to delete the app and re-install but I really don't see how that will help.

Interestingly enough, I am able to run the programs through terminal and the pop up did appear. All it did was add terminal to the list of apps that can access my calendar. The permissions still weren't for the apps.

How can I force the pop up for granting permissions?
