I want to access data on my old time capsule which is stored on a windows partition.

I have an old time capsule to which I was able to connect with my windows pc.

i can no longer access it even though I see the capsule with the airport application.

Have also a mac but I can’t see the old windows type data.

Any idea’s?

Thanks

Well, the Time Capsule uses an ancient SMB1 protocol and Microsoft disabled SMB1 starting with Windows 10 for very good security reasons, so that might have something to do with the issue here.

I'm not recommending that you enable SMB1 on the PC, but that might allow you to access the data that you are looking for on the Time Capsule.

Do a search for "enable SMB1 on Windows" for some tips and instructions.

If this works, disable SMB1 again as soon as you have the data that you are looking for.
