imovie takes too much place

Hello, I have a problem. I do my project in imovie and it takes about 40 gb, but an app takes almost 200 gb (there is no others projects in the app). Does anyone know why it takes such a lot of space and how I can clean it?

Because video authoring takes up a LOT of space. Both in the video pieces you're bringing into the project, and the many large working files the app needs to juggle to put it all together.

If you're done building the video, then you can clear the cache/render files.

  1. Open iMovie and click the iMovie menu.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Click Delete next to Render Files.
  4. Click Delete again to confirm.

Be aware if you're not done editing your video, it will build many of these working files again.
