How to log into a "new to me" Mac Pro 2008, when I can't get my authentication code in.

I have recently been gifted a Mac Pro from the year 2008, but I cannot get passed the log in for iCloud due to the authentication code. Is there anyway to get around this?

The userid and password required to log in to a Mac are the ones created when MacOS was first installed.

Using Apple-ID as the main login to the computer is only available in a small number of situations, and is considered an emergency login. it needs to be set up ahead, and requires a good internet connectuion.

are you able to log in with the a "regular" Userid?
