have twins face recognition cant tell them apart

I have identical twins. The face recognition that allows you to name people in your photos can't tell them apart. Is there a way to fix this? It will not allow me to name each of them in a photo, it seems to see them as the same person twice in the photo.

There is no doubt that face recognition is going to struggle with identical twins especially if they are younger. You will most likely need to manually identify each one.

While I do understand that each one would like their own identity, the only way that it may be possible to use the face recognition feature is to name them as person1/person2 and that would at least prevent Photos from falsely recognizing one as the other and give them both the same label. I know this is not ideal.

You may want to write the correct name into the caption of the photo, if Photos does not offer two faces to name..

Are you asking about naming faces on a Mac or on an iPhone or iPad?

On a Mac you can add faces circles manually for each person and add the correct name by typing it into the name field below the face and also reject a wrong name for a face with "This is not".

Adding missing faces manually is not possible on an iPhone or iPad.
