In Numbers you can lock/protect an entire table but not individual cells. It is very limiting and it would be nice if they added the ability to lock individual cells.

Can you make your table into two tables butted together with one being for input and the other being the formulas?

Hi eissad64,

In my case, I have some troubles to split one table in two and to use a part as a locked cell, but it's a way to explore.

Select the columns that will form a separate table.

Click and hold on any selected column.

The selected columns will appear to lift off the canvas (sheet).

Drag to a vacant space on the canvas.

Now align by dragging, and I am sure that these Alignment Guides will help:

Menu > Numbers > Settings > Rulers. Tick every box. You won't be sorry.

Now drag the new Table 1-1 to abut with Table 1

Rename the new tables (for example Input and Results). Perhaps use Cell Fill to distinguish the two purposes.

Lock the Results table.

Done!

Regards,

Ian .
