Burn a disc of your Final Cut Pro project or Compressor file
In Final Cut Pro 10.8 and Compressor 4.8 or later on Mac, you can't burn a video directly to DVD or Blu-ray disc. To burn a disc, share or transcode the video to Apple ProRes 422, then use a third-party disc burning app.
Share your Final Cut Pro project to Apple ProRes 422
- With your project open in Final Cut Pro, choose Export File from the Share menu.
- Click the Settings tab, then make sure to choose these options:
- Choose Video and Audio from the Format pop-up menu.
- Choose Apple ProRes 422 from the Video Codec pop-up menu.
- Click Next, name the file, choose a location for the exported file, then click Save.
Transcode your Compressor file to Apple ProRes 422
- Click the Add File button in the batch area.
- In the File window, select the video file you want to burn to disc, then click Add.
- In the Presets window, click the disclosure triangle next to ProRes, then choose Apple ProRes 422.
- Choose a save location, then click OK. The new job is shown in the batch area.
- Click the Start Batch button in the lower-right corner of the batch area, Then follow the instructions.
- This will complete the transcoding process in Apple ProRes 422 Codec (ProRes 422 LT should be ok).
- Burn your video to disc
- You can use Toast 20 Pro by Roxio to burn the exported video file to disc.
