iPad Pro or MacBook for graphic design?

Hi all, my brother is starting college in September and will be studying graphic design, and going down the logo/drawing/house plan type route.

Which apple product would be best for this?

We've been looking at the iPad pro (2024) with the pen and keyboard, but have been told by people that the MacBook is better as it has the same software that the college uses that the iPad doesn't have.

Personal thoughts is that the iPad pro would be better. Any thoughts and which MacBook would you recommend for this if it's better than the iPad pro 🤔

It is really crucial to be able to run the apps used by the school and its teachers. Talk to them to verify the situation and decide accordingly.

in general I think a full computer is always better at university level.
