Old iPod - Cannot See Music in iTunes Music File Explorer

My husband has an old ipod touch that is on a deactivated ID. It is splitting. I wanted to move the music from the ipod to itunes. Here are my recent steps. The computer I'm working on is less than a year old. I recently downloaded iTunes and using a 3rd party app downloaded my music from another another different ipod to iTunes off a newly created apple id. My other ID was deactivated over the past year and apple won't reactive it. On my husband's ipod I see the music in iTunes itself, when plugged into the computer, on an old deactivated id. He doesn't remember the password to get into the ipod and doesn't use the email it's showing on the device. I don't see the music in the file Explorer. I see pictures. I see the DCIM folder. No music. No ipod_controller either. I went into devices and system folders and updated the drivers. No luck. I want to move the music from the ipod to the iTunes.

Apple don't provide a method for copying tracks off a device. iTunes may list the contents of a manually managed device but that doesn't help much. For iOS devices you can use iFunBox to explore the raw file system and copy off files so they can be reintegrated into an iTunes library. See my previous link and also Recover media from an iPod - Apple Community.

Music files should be found in Raw File System > iTunes_Control > Music > F00...F49 folders.

Ifunbox couldn't read my husband's old ipod touch. SharePod can't read my husband's ipod touch either. I'm not sure if this because windows cant show the contents in file explorer. I'm d/l'ing what I salvaged from my own old ipod, wheel style, to icloud since sharepod worked for it only. I'm at a loss since we can't remember the password, the ID was deactivated and the email isn't used anymore.
