Cannot create Smart Playlist based on "D

I am trying to create a Smart Playlist based on the Date Added attribute. For a long time, this worked well in iTunes. I simply created a new Smart Playlist and creating a matching rule as:

Date Added in the range 5/1/2024 and 5/31/2024.

I leave the options for limiting the number, matching checked items and live updating as unchecked.

The playlist is created but is empty even though I definitely have added songs (by purchasing from Apple Music!) in the period in question.

Any ideas? Does this feature simply not work as it did in iTunes?
