How do I force image capture to scan the entire bed of the scanner?

Every time I open an image capture, it opens to a small window of scanning.


Even when I select detect image guidelines it doesn't help it only was in the partial image even though the bed is much bigger than the image.


What am I doing wrong?


I tried resetting the custom size I can't make it bigger than 8.5" x 12"

If you look closely at the Image Capture window you'll see that there are white selection boxes on the image, and this is what it scans. I delete all of those (click on them and hit delete) and then draw one large box over the entire image...
