Podcast episode can’t be played, please try again. It never works again.

I bought a subscription to a podcast to listen to the extended episodes, the ‘no sleep podcast’ to be specific. Wanted to hear these episodes for years.

I listen to these episodes as I sleep so the podcast keeps playing while I’m unconscious. No problem, I just go back to the last episode I remember and play it again.

except I can’t anymore. It gives me the error ‘this podcast can’t be played, please try it again’ and it never works again. It’s been going on for two weeks and now it’s happening even when I just pause an episode for longer than a few seconds. The episode is forever lost. I can download them but they still won’t play. I was right at the end of the last one and had to pause it to play with my toddler. It was only for like 5 minuets but now I can’t hear the ending and my subscription will end soon.

what is going wrong? Am I doing something? This doesn’t happen on the free version and a quick search on here shows that this seems to have been an issue for a while.

We can’t sync our podcast progress across devices, a very basic feature, and now it doesn’t even work right. Has Apple abandoned its podcast app? It’s just getting worse and worse and that is unlike Apple. I choose to spend more for Apple products because of the whole “it just works” and the seamless ecosystem. That has been falling apart recently. Podcasts are such a basic thing, Apple of all companies shouldn’t Ibe neglecting such a basic app that everyone else offers with fantastic features and in working order.

i just want to listen to my podcasts man. What do I need to do? It’s an issue on my iPad and iPhone.
