Home videos in iTunes not showing up on TV app

On my iMac, I just changed several home videos to the category "TV shows" in iTunes. I was hoping this would allow me to watch them on the Apple TV app on the TV. I cannot see them next to the other TV shows, what am I missing?

I restarted Apple TV app on the TV, but no change.

Home Videos on Apple TV I have a number of home videos on an older Mac running 10.13.6 and view them from iTunes. I want to see them on Apple TV but they don't show up on the TV app. (no Home Movies menu and iTunes isn't an apple TV app.). Right clicking on the file does not give me the option to change the "type" to TV as suggested in another post. How can I see them on AppleTV?

Movies imported into the TV app not showing on Apple TV Hi everyone, this is a follow-up of the original discussion at 8656449. I have imported some mp4s in the TV App on my Mac (Ventura 13.1). I have also tagged them as 'Movies'. When I open the Apple TV+ app on my Apple TV, the imported videos do not appear in the Library. As a workaround, I open the 'Computers' Apple TV app, and I can watch the videos from there. When I open the Apple TV app on my Samsung TV, the library does not have the imported videos (as well), neither can I watch any of them on the TV. Has anyone managed to make this work? Or is it a typical Apple design decision? Thanks

Home Movie doesn't appear on my Smart TV I have completed a home movie. I have saved it to Home Movies on my TV App, in Home Movies in my Movies folder and in Home Hovies in my iTunes media folder. So, viewing it on my mac is no problem. But it doesn't appear on my Smart TV. I access 'Computers' on my Apple TV box, then go to Home Hovies. But there is no sign of it, on Home Movies, or anywhere else. I have the same problem with my iPad. I'm obviously missing a step or something here, but cannot figure what it is. Can anyone help as it's driving me crazy? [Re-Titled by Moderator]
