Blurred images on Times newspaper web site on Safari

Despite trying numerous remedies on other sites (e.g., clearing cookies on Washington Post), the images on the Times (London) website do not load properly in Safari. The initial pictures at the top of the article are fine, but the ones lower down are terrible. Does anyone have any suggestions? It is driving me to Chrome full time.

First, here is the picture from Safari:

I had this issue but have found a workaround by clicking on the reader view option in the Safari search bar (small capital A and a bigger capital A) and the clicking ‘Show Reader’. The article pictures appear much clearer on my iPad with this toggled on.

I have the same problem as below: no pictures beyond the initial one - and no comments sections. It's really annoying. I contacted The Times about it some weeks ago and they said it was Apple's fault, because the latest safari update excluded some sort of code that The Times uses. I asked what they are going to do about it and they said they were hopeful that Apple would update safari again to sort the problem!

The problem doesn't seem to exist on other media websites, so I'm annoyed at the Times for not sorting this. I told them they an't expect a global organisation to sing to the tune of their website.
