Apple Music app on Windows abruptly losing sound

I've been having issues with the UWP app on Windows 11 for the last few days, streaming Hi-res lossless audio on headphones as well as through a 4k monitor connected via HDMI port. The issue goes away temporarily when I select the audio output device through the sound control panel option. Temporarily because it's not worked for the headphones as often as it does for the monitor.
