Apple Music on Windows First experiences

I was moving my music to a new computer. I copied the music to an SD drive and transferred it to the new computer. Then I went to the Microsoft store to get iTunes and I found Apple music, so I installed it instead.

I was surprised that it didn't ask me to locate my library. But it churned for a little while and then my music came up. Or rather a third of my music. I wanted it to rescan my library after I updated the library location. But I couldn't find any such command. So I started using brute force. I used the Import command. But that was rather tedious. Then I discovered that I could drag and drop. That was a lot faster. It adds each album to my Apple Library. Sometimes it comes with the Cover art. Sometimes not. I looked for a command to retrieve it from the Apple store. But that command doesn't appear to exist. In most cases the artwork is in the folder with music, so I can get it there, if Apple Music doesn't load it for some reason.

I read somewhere that there is a song limit of 100,000 songs. But I think that only applies if you subscribe. I have no idea how many songs I have but my music was either purchased from Apple, Amazon or ripped from CDs. Since I'm not subscribed, does the limit not apply to me? I just want to be sure that after I load all of my music if it turns out that I have more than the limit that it will all still work, if I haven't subscribed.

I wanted to rip a new CD that I own. But found no way to do it. Apple Music didn't even know it when I loaded the CD. I saw online that there were setting under General to control what happens with a CD. But those settings were no where to be found. It also says that there is a Import button on the side bar, but there is not. So I assume this hasn't been implemented yet? Will it be? I hope. Can I still use iTunes to rip the music?

Maybe there are ways to do these things that I am trying to do, or perhaps easier ways than I have found, so I figured I would ask.

Thanks.
