Apple Music App (New) on Win11 Does Not find my personally owned music when i search "my library"

I owned about 2000 cds when i converted to itunes when it came out.

This week I updated from itunes to the Apple Music app. When I search for a song or an album in the top left search box after having checked the "my library" on the far right, Apple Music NEVER finds anything that I own.

For example, I search for "suite: judy blue eyes" from the CSN boxed set that I bought in like 1995. It says no such song exists. I search for Loreena McKennitt from CDs I purchased in the 2000s... Apple Music says nothing in my library. When I manually click "albums", then go and search physically for the album, the album and then the songs are "findable".

Essentially Apple Music only wants to show what's "from the cloud" or "from itunes music subscription".

Questions/Concerns.

  1. how do i make it so Apple Music actually shows everything in "my library"
  2. how can i ensure that my extensive playlists are not somehow endangered or changed by this app

When i open itunes, it said Apple Music is the only way to access my music.
