Is there a way to list/remove local folder references from the Apple Music app on Windows?

Is there a way to list/remove local folder references from the Apple Music app on Windows? I believe that dragging/dropping a local folder onto the Music app causes Apple Music to import (without copying in my case given my settings configuration) and merge music from the given local folder into my Apple music library. I also believe that doing this will cause Apple Music to continue monitoring the folder for updates/new music that needs to be merged into my library. What I don't see is a way to view what folders are being monitored or a way to remove them should I no longer want them to be monitored for changes. Maybe I am missing something. Does any one have ideas? Thanks in advance.

Like iTunes the only folder the Apple Music will monitor will be the Automatically Add to Music folder inside the media folder. Like iTunes the Apple Music app expects that it will be the only app that accesses the content that has been added to it. Metadata changes might be picked up during playback if the file path hasn't changed. Manually relocating files will break references in the Apple Music library.

While this is true of the internal Apple Music app folder, it is NOT true of folders added using the “Import” option. This allows you to add an external folder that you manage and have Apple Music import the contents of this folder to your Apple Music library. It is this folder to which I am referring. You are also given the option to copy the contents of this external folder into Apple Music’s folder, which I’ve opted NOT to do. If you make a change to the external folder, such as add new mp3 files, then invoke the “update iCloud” option, Apple Music will upload any new content that it sees in the external folder.

I’m trying to figure out where Apple Music maintains a list of such folders so that I can remove them if I want to do so in the future.

I'd be very surprised if this was the case. I haven't tested Apple Music for Windows extensively, because each time I install it I quickly become aware of its shortcomings when compared to iTunes. When you add a folder to the library that is located outside of the media folder, and don't have copy to media folder selected, all that should happen is that the valid audio files found in that location at that time are added to the library and referenced on their original paths. Apple Music won't scan those folders again on subsequent occasions. The only place it scans should be the Automatically Add to Music folder in the media folder.
