Vision Pro Device Disabled

My wife added a passcode yesterday, and forgot it (don't ask. It's all my fault cause I'm the husband). Now the device is disabled and says she has to wait 3 hours. I researched and it seems that no one has a resolution for this issue. I tried to create an appointment with the Genius Bar tomorrow but my only choice is phone calls when I try make the appointment (in person appointment is not an option). I wonder if anyone else has this issue? Can I just go to the apple store and get them to reset this device?

When facing the issue of a "Vision Pro Device Disabled" message due to a forgotten passcode, there are several steps and considerations you can take to resolve the problem. The specific steps might vary depending on the security features and options provided by the device manufacturer, but here's a general approach to dealing with such situations:

  • Wait for the Lockout Period to Expire: If the device says to wait for a specific time, waiting out this period is the simplest step. This lockout is a security feature to prevent unauthorized attempts to guess the passcode.

  • Check for Online Account Management Options: Some devices allow you to manage security settings, including passcodes, through an online account associated with the device. If available, you could reset the passcode through this online account.

  • Device Reset or Recovery Mode: For many devices, especially those with stringent security like Apple's Vision Pro (assuming it has similar protocols to other Apple devices), if you forget your passcode, the only way to regain access may involve erasing the device and setting it up as new or restoring it from a backup. This process can often be initiated through a computer connection and using device management software provided by the manufacturer.

  • Using a Computer: Connect the device to a computer and use the manufacturer's recommended software (for Apple devices, it would be Finder on a Mac or iTunes on a PC) to put the device into recovery mode. From there, you can choose to restore the device. Note that this will erase the device's data, so it's hoped that you have a recent backup.
