Poor quality surroundings video

I just got my Vision Pro. I have prescription inserts. All content looks crisp and clean, but the image of the surroundings seems low resolution and smeared with poor contrast and blown out bright areas. It almost looks like there's a protective film over the surroundings camera, but I can't find any.

If I set it to full immersion, the image is crisp as far as I can see.

What am I doing wrong?

I am experiencing the same thing. Apparently Apple did not put high quality/resolution cameras. I brought more lights into my room to see if it would help the sensors capture more but the quality is still less than standard definition.

I am coming to the same conclusion. I tried it in outdoor lighting. It was a little better but still not up to the quality you see in all the promo videos. I took a spatial picture while I was out there. It looked great (amazing, really) at the normal size but when I expanded it to "immersive", it looked over-enlarged. It was better than the background video, but still not ideal.

I can live with this for normal usage. it's kind of like wearing computer glasses at your desk when you wear progressive lenses the rest of the time. Better even--it's a game changer for me to be able to focus on content at any apparent distance. But I expected better, and am surprised not to see more reviewer comments about this.

Apologies. I have no experience with this device and there aren’t as of yet, a full set of support documents to refer to for help. I found another that mentions you only being able to detect objects at eye level and the surroundings only coming into view gradually if you are moving while not fully immersed. Could it be lighting?
