My computer repeatedly crashes after a minute with big pink flash

I loaded iMovie- got a notice to allow all updates, I clicked yes- after a half hour now computer is constantly crashing. I've tried the safe srtart, I reloaded my time machine from last nights back up. A notice said Avid had installed a legacy extension. I a, tryomg to remove extensions, but not enough time to find them before it crashes again.

Startup in Safe Mode and remove all of the Extensions, AV-ware, Cleaning-ware and other Junk-ware that you have installed, then restart normally. see > Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

As den.thed has already mentioned, starting up in Safe Mode should get you going again. At least enough to attempt some troubleshooting.

For that, I suggest that you run an EtreCheck report, and optionally, post it here if you need assistance with interpreting its results. EtreCheck is an excellent troubleshooting tool, developed by a valued forum member, that greatly aides in troubleshooting difficult Mac issues.
