Why has Outlook for iOS stopped working to sync Contacts on my old iPhone 7-Plus that's stuck on iOS 15?

I know I've read that Outlook for iOS only works on the latest 2 iOS, 16 & 17, and my iPhone is only capable of being upgraded to 15 something.

Outlook for iOS is the only app that I really need. I can get by in life without all the other apps that are out there, even though I have & use some. But I just recently figured out that Outlook for iOS isn't syncing in any new contacts or changes that I make to contacts from the Outlook 2016 that's on my Windows home computer or online. This is a problem.
