My phone has almost zero storage left so I want to put all of my photos and video in files and put them in a sd card but every time I put photos in files,it just creates a copy and not the true image and it doesn’t keep the date so I can never know when I took the image.what do I do ?

Normally if you export from the Photos app on Mac it will use the date exported not the date taken for the Modified Date. However, the Created Date should still be the photos date. Make sure you use File>Export>Export Unmodified Originals.

Are you using iCloud Photos and are having a Mac as well? Then try to save the photos from your Mac.
Apple has changed the export of photos in macOS 14.1 Sonoma. After upgrading to Sonoma the exported photos will have the "Date taken" as the file creation date, the edited versions as well as the originals. A great improvement.
