It is also possible that you have made a subscription with a developer directly. This is very common with links provided from Social Media accounts or Website Advertisements where you are offered a free trial that will turn into a subscription directly from that website and this prevents Apple from being able to manage the subscription.

If you do not see the subscription by viewing it using this link, then that is most likely what has occurred. Your only option then is to deal with the website where the subscription was started, since this bypasses Apple.

If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support

  • What is the exact description of the charge?
  • What is the name of the app?

Many apps have free trials that automatically turn into paid subscriptions. Always read the fine print -- you'll be glad when it comes time to buy a car or a house. Confirm you have canceled any subscription automatic renewal (if you simply delete an app this does not cancel subscriptions):

Review the information in this support article by clicking on the link to learn how to cancel a subscription from Apple. ➔ If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support If you subscribed to this in the EU from a third party, see: About purchases not billed through the App Store or the App Store's In-App Purchase system - Apple Support instead.

• "If you signed up for a free or discounted trial subscription and you don't want to renew it, cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends."

• An existing subscription will normally continue until the end of its term and may then renew automatically. Stopping automatic renewal is effectively canceling it. "If you don’t see Cancel Subscription, then the subscription is already canceled and won't renew." The "Expires" date means the current subscription will just run until then. Note special conditions for some countries: About canceling subscriptions in Germany, Israel, South Africa, or Türkiye - Apple Support

• Read the article to see what to do about subscriptions that do not appear in your list. If you still can't find a subscription, contact Apple Support using the link at the end of the support article.

• Canceling a subscription does not automatically start a refund.

It happened to me too. I did not receive the usual email that apple will send if you purchase something from the app store. Apple wont be able to help because it's not on their record.

I sent an email found on app store. Su*****@liftstory.com. They refunded me.

Here is this email.

Hey Shylina!

We may see that you have purchased a monthly subscription with a 7-day trial via the Web (Sep 4) with the e-mail address (my email address). The subscription is auto-renewable, so if the user doesn't cancel it at least 24 hours prior to the end of the 7-day trial, the subscription will be automatically renewed, and the account will be charged. This information is stated before the purchase in the Subscription Terms, which the user accepts by purchasing the trial period.

Please note, that since you bought this subscription aside from the AppStore, there will be no subscription info in the App Store since those are different subscription types (Web and App subscription).

I had the same problem. I never signed up for this app, do not have this app on my phone, and after hours of research, I discovered it's a social media content performance boost app:

I know for sure I have NEVER signed up for such a thing. I am not interested in SM content performance, and when you google it, there's not much too it. No service explanation. It's super sketch. It did allow me to cancel it with my e-mail so we shall see.
