Unable to open my 23 " MAC --will not allow me to enter password Have tried restarting but no luck. Symbol of US in upper right hand corner. When I click on that it says A-US Have never seen that before. Nothing else on screen except place to type in password and it won't allow typing in it.
Plug the keyboard into the iMac using the keyboards charging cable and enter the password.

1) I never accused the original author, you or anyone else of forgetting their password.

Plugging in keyboard had the same result
Try moving the mouse pointer to the input box, click on box to enable keyboard entry. If no response, try restarting in safe mode followed by a normal restart and try again.
