An iPad doesn’t really get a phone number. It’s data only it will work in conjunction with an iPhone in that the iPhone is tied with it and you can answer calls and texts to the iPhone using the iPad that is signed into the same AppleID, but the iPad doesn’t have a phone number that’s you can call.
