can't automatically empty trash

I found information on the internet that tells me to go to system settings -- General -- then click storage and there I can turn on empty trash.

there is no option there to do that/. I am on a Mac mimi running OS 13.51

The key combination of Shift+Command+Delete will empty the Trash bin immediately when applied.


Where on the internet did you get those directions? There is no option to Empty Trash in the System ➙ General ➙ Storage settings pane. The only option is what ekassos hinted out in the Finder ➙ Advanced settings pane - a 30 day automatic empty trash.
