Message: Use of purchased app prevented with msg: "app name" is damaged and can't be opened

I have purchased PDF Expert on the App Store, but am unable to use it because I get the message: "PDF Expert" is damaged and can't be opened. Delete "PDF Expert" and download it again from the App Store.

When I do as instructed I get the same message after I download it again. I have then deleted it and restarted my computer and then downloaded it again. Still the same.

I like the app. Can anyone help, please?

It seems like you're facing an issue with PDF Expert on your Mac, where you're receiving the error message "PDF Expert" is damaged and can't be opened. Here are a few steps you can take to try to resolve this issue:

1. Clear Cache:

Sometimes, a corrupted cache can cause this issue. Try clearing the cache for the App Store:

- Open the App Store.

- Go to the "Store" menu and select "Sign Out."

- Sign back in and try downloading PDF Expert again.

2. Check for Updates:

Make sure you have the latest version of macOS and the latest updates for PDF Expert from the App Store. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues.

3. Reboot in Safe Mode:

Boot your Mac in Safe Mode and try opening PDF Expert again. Safe Mode disables certain software and extensions that could be causing conflicts. If the app works in Safe Mode, it could indicate a third-party software conflict.

4. Reset App Preferences:

Sometimes, app preferences can become corrupted. Try resetting PDF Expert preferences:

- Open Finder and go to your "Applications" folder.

- Right-click on PDF Expert and choose "Move to Trash."

- Empty the Trash.

- Re-download PDF Expert from the App Store.

5. Re-download the App:

If the issue persists, try completely removing PDF Expert from your Mac and then downloading it again:

- Delete PDF Expert from your Applications folder.

- Empty the Trash.

- Restart your Mac.

- Open the App Store, go to your Purchased apps, and re-download PDF Expert.

6. Contact Readdle Support:

If none of the above steps work, you might want to reach out to Readdle's support directly. They could provide specific troubleshooting steps or insights into the issue you're facing.

7. Apple Support:

If the issue persists, you can also contact Apple Support for assistance. They might be able to provide further guidance and solutions.

Before attempting any of these steps, it's a good idea to back up your important data. If all else fails, consider reaching out to Readdle's customer support or Apple Support for personalized assistance in resolving this issue.
