Can I turn off iMessage for only one contact

My son had an iPhone, but recently went to an android and now I can’t send him texts without turning off iMessage, but for all. Which I don’t want to do. I have tried all troubleshooting.

I figured it out! Turning on send as SMS when iMessage is unavailable fixed my issue!
