Registering imessages
How do I get contact’s registered with iMessages? Got a new iPad and I can’t send texts to several contacts.

You can only send imessage to other Apple users when using an ipad, unless you have this set up then you can send text to non iphone user Forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to your Mac or iPad - Apple Support
